Think Lockhart has been organising, running and leading art events, projects and exhibitions within the U.K for more than two decades.
Kate and Jon Lockhart met while studying Art at the University of Reading and share a passion for creativity, experimentation, and collaboration. As artists and educators, they believe the most powerful art is the kind that connects people and communities.
Through ThinkLockhart, they deliver projects ranging from immersive workshops and school programmes to large-scale public commissions and site-specific installations. Their work combines artistic innovation with social engagement, inviting participation, sparking dialogue, and leaving a lasting impact. Every project is an opportunity to inspire, challenge, and transform through creativity.

Kate Lockhart is a multidisciplinary artist working across painting, printmaking, mixed media, drawing, and site-specific installations. She returned to full-time education in 2005 to pursue an MA in Fine Art at the Royal College of Art, London, graduating in 2007. Since then, she has developed a dynamic practice through corporate commissions, public art, and educational projects with ThinkLockhart.
Kate’s approach is collaborative and hands-on, whether leading a one-day skills exchange workshop or delivering large-scale public commissions. She excels at fostering creative partnerships between artists, clients, and communities, turning ideas into engaging, tangible experiences.
Dr Jon Lockhart – PhD, MFA BA (Hons) QTS www.jonlockhart.com
Jon is a sculptor who primarily works in mixed-media installations, combining handmade and found objects. In addition to his studio practice, he is an artist, researcher, and qualified art teacher with experience from Foundation Stage to degree level. He specialises in policy consultancy for Widening Participation (WP) and local education, addressing systemic barriers faced by children from underrepresented backgrounds amid the UK’s increasing emphasis on STEM. Through practice-based research, Jon develops replicable models of arts engagement that integrate emerging technologies with interdisciplinary methods such as drama, cybernetics, and design technology.

Dee Park Community Art Project
Working with Catalyst Housing on a long-term community engagement project. Exploring ideas for public artwork, participatory arts adventures and shared creativity.
Larkmead Secondary School – Abingdon. Literary Focus
A project to develop a set of symbols to promote literacy across the whole school. We worked with a stunningly talented team of year 9 students to explore the ideas behind symbols and to develop some images to be used by around the school.
The Museum of Reading – Screen printing workshops
A series of adult workshops exploring methods of photo and stencil screen printing. The workshops accompanied the Museum’s print exhibition.
